Introduction
Sibaq DHIU Inter collegiate meet is the art fest of DHIU and its UG colleges
officially sanctioned and supported by DHIU and its coordination committee to help
promote and develop educational activities of concerned students. Participation in the
fest is intended to foster high standard and stimulate creativity in various fields.
Sibaq was first held in 2004 in DHIU campus under the auspices of Darul Huda
in association with its coordination committee. The program has been instrumental in
the development of extra-curricular activities and creative thinking of participants.
SECTION I
Name of event: The name of this event shall be Sibaq DHIU Inter collegiate meet.
Emblem: The official emblem of this event will be as shown below:
Purpose: The purpose of Sibaq is to recognize exemplary students’ achievements in
various fields of creativity and promote the competitive and other innate skills of
students along with enhancing the cooperative and collaborative realms of DHIU and
UG colleges

Participants: All students currently pursuing education in DHIU -other than PG
students- and its UG colleges and are in compliance with the criteria set forth by
organizing committee are eligible to participate in the event.
SECTION II
POLICY AND CODE OF ETHICS:
The policies and code of ethics as outlined in the following section will be
observed by all participants in the event.
1. Institution officials
a. Provide support, Create a climate of professional concern and strive
to assure that participating students are abide by the rules and
regulations set forth by organizing committee.
b. Abstain from any practice that endangers the smooth running of
program.
c. Appropriately supervise all participants along with breeding
competitive but cooperative mentality among them.
2. Students:
a. Know and respect the rules and regulations
b. Maintain a sense of educational purpose while participating in the
event.
SECTION III
GENERAL REGULATIONS:
1. The competition will be conducted in the four categories:
A- Super Senior (students of class 8, 9, 10)
B- Senior (students of class 5, 6, 7)
C- Junior (students of class 3, 4)
D- Sub Junior (students of class 1, 2)
2. Only the students currently studying in DHIU- other than PG students- and
UG colleges, in accordance with all criteria laid down by organizing
committee are eligible to participate in the event.
3. Along with the contestants two escorts/ officials and one team manager are
permitted official admittance and will enjoy all the facilities provided by the
hosting institution. Anyway, more members can be admitted but, the
expenses should be met by them.
4. The all responsibilities of contestants will be taken by the team officials and
DHIU and host sites will not bear any kind of responsibilities.
5. Fully fledged hospitality including food and accommodation facilities for
the contestants and the team officials are assured by the hosting institution.
6. For all events the decision of the judges shall be cut entry and binding on
every one. No discussions or complaints will be entertained.
7. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against the participants who violate
the rules and regulations or indulge in arguments with the judges during the
competition.
8. For the individual items first, second and third places will have a valuation
of five, three and one respectively. (For the points of group items refer
program manual)
9. The performance of each individual and group events will be graded as A,
B or C:
A grade = 70 % and above marks.
B grade = 60 -69 % marks.
C grade = 50-59 % marks.
A, B, C grades will have a valuation of 10, 7, 5 points respectively.
10. The participants shall strictly adhere to the relevant rules and regulations
laid down by the organizing committee. The organizing committee reserves
the right to cancel any event or alter the programs scheduled without
assigning any reason whatsoever.
11. Contestants should collect their roll number from the counter, for each and
every item separately, at least half an hour before the contest is scheduled to
take place.
12. The participants should report the venue at least 30 minutes prior to the
scheduled start. No entries will be accepted after then. At the same time the
organizers reserve their right to make any alternate arrangements for the
smooth running of the fest and to avoid overlapping of events.
13. Participants must adhere to the time limits specified for each item.
Participant exceeding the time limit will be disqualified.
14. The team getting the overall highest points (grade points+ position points)
in each category will be presented with group championship trophy.
Anyway, the institution securing the overall highest points is not presented
with the overall championship trophy of the event this time.
15. In case of a tie with equal points (grade points + position points) for more
than one institution for group championship the following criteria will
apply:
a. Maximum number of first prizes secured by the team for both the
individual and the group items.
b. If the tie still exists, the maximum number of A grade secured by the
students of concerned teams.
c. If the tie still exists, the total point secured by a team in the stage
items.
SECTION IV
PROGRAM MANUAL:
General regulations
1. The maximum number of events an individual can participate is not
restricted. However in case of language items- song, speech, essay
writing , poem writing and short story writing- a participant can have
only one item
2. Participants may be disqualified and will undergo any decision taken by
the chief controller in case of any violation of terms and conditions
prescribed by organizing committee.
3. After filling the tabular program chart* should be sent online to
sibaq2011@gmail.com on or before 05-01-2011. Copy of the same in
written format along with the authentification certificate of college head
is submitted by hand on or before 07-01-2011.
4. For all non stage events paper will be given by organizers.
5. All the individual and group events other than the following items have
a valuation of 5, 3, 1 points for first, second and third positions
respectively:
Burdah (super senior) 10, 7, 5
Debate (super senior) 10, 7, 5
Magazine (super senior) 10, 7, 5
Collage (super senior) 10, 7, 5
*The tabular program chart which consists the marking space for filling the names of
participating students and the certifying form for the college head will be dispatched at our
earliest convenience.

1- Spot Translation contestants have to translate either audio or video clips to the
language prescribed by jury at the spot.
2- Quira'th will be evaluated on basis of the various internationally acclaimed styles
( eg: thartheel, hard and etc).
3- The subject for Urdu, Arabic and English Speech contests will be given 15 minutes
prior to the competition.
4- Theme for Mala Recitation will be given an hour prior to the event.
5- Sibaq Master Challenge is a program which evaluates potential of the participants’
in various fields of knowledge and will be conducted in groups, each group consisting
two members.
6- Topic for the debate will be provided at the spot. A knock out round of group
discussion, from which three teams are to be short listed for the event, is to be held
earlier.
7- Power Point Presentation is a program which evaluates the presentation skill as
well as the data handling ability of the contestant on a specific subject given one week
prior to the event.
8-Collage is to be made on a specific relevant theme which will be announced one
month prior to the event.
9- The magazine should be :
Four lingual – Malayalam, Arabic, Urdu and English.
Pages should not exceed 200 nor deceed 150.
Pages should be of executive bond paper in A4 size.
Cover story should be on the topic ‘WikiLeaks: a new trend in journalism’
(Malayalam is mandatory).
Each language section should have at least one article, poem and tribute.
The magazine should have a feature in Malayalam for which the topic ‘my
campus’ is mandatory.
All articles and other stuffs should be original and handworks of students. Any
type of plagiarism is not allowed and if found, the chief controller reserves the
right to take any severe action against the concerned team.
Magazine should be submitted by hand to the office of chief controller on or before
6.00pm.on 29.01.2011.

1- Sibaq Talent Hunt is a program aimed at checking the mental ability, memory
power, reasoning capacity and general inputs of the contestant.
